Friends’ Association International Kurt Masur Institute
Kurt Masur has always been an artist who was devoted to people’s daily life and who saw a special task and purpose in encouraging others to take responsibility for our time and our world. Regardless of all the forms of society that this eventful century held in store for him, he had always preserved, defended and carried on his humanistic attitude. With his courageous demeanor, his words and his music, many people experienced edification and encouragement. The motto of the International Kurt Masur Institute “By the power of music” manifests itself through musical encounters, a documentation centre on the life and work of Kurt Masur, the promotion of young musicians, symposia and encounters on social issues.
The friend’s association of the institute considers it a gift, but also an important task, to support the Kurt Masur Institute in its spirit. Let yourself be inspired by the work of Kurt Masur and become part of our common work by becoming a member of the Friends’ Association.
